Electronic Evidence Presentation System

The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana has installed an electronic evidence presentation system which is available to counsel to assist them in presenting their evidence to the court and to the jury. The system is designed to enhance and improve the quality and the efficiency of evidence presentation. The equipment consists of an EPSON projector, an ELMO visual presenter and a VCR.

The ELMO visual presenter is capable of projecting images of opaque documents, transparencies, 3-D objects and even x-rays. Documents can be viewed in color, or if necessary, switched to black and white.

The EPSON projector allows you to connect two computers at one time. This allows counsel to project computer generated images from their PCs for viewing by the court and/or the jury. A VCR is also connected to the EPSON projector to allow video tapes to be viewed.

If you wish to use this equipment for a trial or hearing, please contact the judge's assigned courtroom deputy. The equipment is portable and can be brought to the judge's courtroom. It is suggested that anyone interested in using the system make arrangements to test their equipment and software for compatibility in advance of the trial or hearing.
