You will need the following computer hardware, software, and accounts:
  • A personal computer running a standard platform such as Windows or Macintosh.
     
  • Internet service.
     
  • A web browser like Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.  The Safari web browser on a Macintosh does not work well with CM/ECF.
     
  • A PDF viewer, such as Adobe Acrobat Reader.
     
  • A word processing software like Wordperfect or Word.
     
  • A PDF conversion software, such as Adobe Acrobat Standard, to help create a PDF document directly from your word processing software.  Avoid software that places advertisements or website links onto your PDF document.
     
  • A scanner to image documents when they exist ONLY in paper form.  Be sure to scan paper documents at a resolution of 300 dpi.
      
  • A PACER account - allows you to view docket sheets.  Visit www.pacer.gov for more information.

    • An ECF account for Louisiana Eastern District - allows you to electronically file case documents with this court.  For more information, please visit our court's website at www.laed.uscourts.gov.
