New Federal Rules Amendments, Fee Changes, Disputed Ownership Funds

Please be aware that the fee schedule for the U. S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana has been updated to reflect increases approved by the Judicial Conference in September of 2016. The new fees are effective December 1, 2016. There are several amendments to the Federal Rules of Appellate, Bankruptcy, Civil and Criminal Procedure that are effective December 1, 2016. In addition to the change in the fee schedule, the Court has issued a General Order which describes future updates necessary to be compliant with new IRS rules for investment earnings on interpleader funds deposited under 28 U.S.C. section 1335 ("disputed ownership funds'') held in court registries.  Click here for: General Order Regarding Deposit and Investment of Registry Funds
