The Courthouse Will Remain Closed To The General Public Until November 1, 2020

Effective immediately, the Hale Boggs Federal Building located at 500 Poydras Street, New Orleans, Louisiana, which houses the United States District Court as well as the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, will remain closed to the general public until November 1, 2020. The District Court and Bankruptcy Court are operating with skeletal crews to perform critical mission responsibilities. Litigants may file documents electronically through the District and Bankruptcy Courts' CM/ECF systems, which remain fully operational. Unrepresented persons may send filings electronically to the District Court at prosedocs@laed.uscourts.gov, by facsimile at (504) 310-8159, or by U.S. Mail to The Clerk's Office, U.S. District Court, 500 Poydras Street, Room C-151, New Orleans, LA 70130. Unrepresented persons may send filings electronically to the Bankruptcy Court at Orders_Clerk@laeb.uscourts.gov, by facsimile to (504) 589-7866, or by U.S. Mail to The Clerk's Office, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, 500 Poydras Street, Suite B-601, New Orleans, LA 70130.
