Saving Documents as PDF files

The court prefers that documents created via word-processing software be saved as PDF files rather than printed to hard copy and scanned. Saving documents as PDF files allows chambers to easily annotate and adjust proposed orders and other submissions as needed. They are also text searchable, a useful feature for the court and other users.

There are two basic ways to save word processing documents as PDF files: saving as /publishing to PDF or using the print feature. Using the print feature to create PDF files resolves many issues with uploading and, once filed in CM/ECF, downloading PDF files. However, using the print feature to create PDF files will remove hyperlinks.
