Important Reporting Information

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak and Centers for Disease Control guidance, requirements for entry into the U.S. Courthouse are as follows:

 

Things to bring with you:

  • Your driver’s license or official ID card bearing your photograph
  • A mask covering your nose and mouth – required to be worn inside the building
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (CDC Vaccine Card, photo of card on phone, or LA Wallet app), OR
  • Proof of a recent negative PCR test taken within the previous 72 hours
    • You are strongly encouraged to bring proof of a recent negative PCR COVID-19 Test, if you do not have proof of vaccination.  However, those who do not have proof of vaccination or negative PCR test will be given a self-testing kit upon check-in at the Jury counter.
  • Your Notice to Appear or Jury Summons with a bar code (for faster check-in at the Jury counter)

 

Things NOT to bring:

  • Weapons of any kind (this includes pocketknives, metal utensils, etc.)
  • Liquids
  • Cameras (you may bring your cell phone, but you must not use its camera function)

 

Entering the Courthouse:

  • You must enter through the Poydras-facing side of the Courthouse.
  • If there is a line, remain socially distanced while waiting to enter.
  • Prepare to present:
    • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (CDC card, photo of card, or LA Wallet app), OR
    • Proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours before entry.

(If you do not have either, you will be given a self-testing kit upon check-in at the Jury counter).

  • Stop for automated temperature screening just inside the Court foyer.
  • If cleared to do so, enter the courthouse for security screening.
  • Those presenting proof of your COVID-19 vaccination or negative PCR test at the security station will receive a “SCREENED” sticker. Wear this sticker so it is visible while you are in the Courthouse.
  • Those needing to take the self-administered COVID-19 Rapid Test will receive the “SCREENED” Sticker only after showing a negative result from their test.
  • After completing the security screening, you will be directed to the Jury Office.
  • Approach the Jury counter one at a time. Form a single-file, socially distanced line while waiting to enter.
  • Have your summons or reporting instructions ready.
