Parking and Accessibility

Accessibility

Entrances to the federal courthouse are mid-block on Poydras Street with a ramp to the left side of the entrance; and from the middle of the plaza that is between the courthouse and the Court of Appeals building. This plaza entrance also has an acccessibility ramp to the right side as you approach.

Public Transit

The courthouse is served by several public transit routes and the St. Charles Streetcar. Visit the Regional Transit Authority and Jefferson Transit for detailed routes and schedules.

Parking

Parking in the area of the courthouse can sometimes be scarce and may be difficult to find.  Allow yourself extra time for this purpose.

There is no parking on the streets immediately surrounding the courthouse, but there are paid parking meters (2 hour maximum) on the streets, in the vicinity of the courthouse and commercial parking facilities are also nearby.

Below are a few resources for planning your parking strategy. Please note: the court does not endorse nor have any affiliation with any parking lots or parking services and assumes no responsibility when you use these services.
