U.S. District Judge Darrel J. Papillion took the oath of office to join the bench of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana on June 2, 2023. Chief Judge Nanette Jolivette Brown administered the oath in a private ceremony, allowing Judge Papillion to begin his service in advance of his formal investiture ceremony in September. Judge Papillion was nominated by President Biden and confirmed by the United States Senate earlier in 2023. The Court extends a warm welcome to Judge Papillion and looks forward to his service on the bench.
